IFES and the Georgetown University M.A. Program in Democracy & Governance are hosting a two-day BRIDGE training on March 25 and 26. BRIDGE (Building Resources in Democracy, Governance and Elections) is a comprehensive professional development course designed by and for election administrators to better understand the electoral process.

The Objectives of BRIDGE are:

  • to promote internationally accepted principles of democracy and good electoral practice
  • enhance the skills and confidence of stakeholders in the electoral process
  • increase the awareness of tools and resources available for the building and maintaining of a sustainable electoral culture
  • develop a support network for stakeholders in electoral processes and encourage a culture of sharing information and experiences

The training held at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. will cover all the pillars of the BRIDGE curriculum so that its participants walk away with a clear understanding of the election cycle, the role of electoral management bodies, different election systems, and electoral legal frameworks, among other things.
