The International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES) works in Egypt to provide long-term, non-partisan capacity development to electoral authorities and to increase public understanding of electoral processes and voter rights and responsibilities. IFES also works to provide targeted technical support for key election events through support to electoral authorities, and works with local authorities on supporting the electoral reform process. IFES has collaborated closely with the High Election Commission, the Presidential Election Commission, and various other government agencies to provide technical support to election events and processes, as well as to develop those authorities’ electoral administration capacity.

In conjunction with electoral authorities, IFES has played a key role supporting the implementation of certain electoral events since 2011 through provision of electoral security materials (such as secure ballot boxes and tamper-evident seals), as well as extensive voter information efforts.
