Photo Gallery: Myanmar Votes!

On November 8, 2015, citizens of Myanmar went to the polls to vote for 1,171 representatives to Myanmar’s national Parliament and State and Region Assemblies, with some voters also electing Ethnic Affairs Ministers. The 2015 elections mark an important milestone in Myanmar’s democratic transition. Approximately 33.5 million people were eligible to vote, and for many Myanmar citizens this was their first time voting. In Yangon, the country’s largest city and commercial capital, many polling stations were crowded with voters looking to have a voice in the future of their country.
