World’s Top Election-Assistance NGO Launches Completely Redesigned Website

Published

New look and structure will facilitate access to data and information

WASHINGTON—The International Foundation for Electoral System (IFES), the leading NGO in elections assistance, has unveiled a new, vastly improved and more user-friendly version of its website, www.ifes.org. The revamped site will better showcase IFES’ expertise.

"The redesign and re-organization of IFES.org reflects many exciting internal changes taking place at our organization. IFES is composed of the world's top experts in the field of elections and democracy promotion. We are very proud of the work to enhance democratic processes and look forward to making a greater effort to making our expertise more accessible," says Bill Sweeney, president and CEO of IFES.

The new version of the website, which was rebuilt from scratch, has a completely new look and structure that makes finding information about the organization and its projects quicker and easier.

The information will be organized by topic to make it easier to access. Upon request, the information can also be looked up by geographic region, country or project for those interested in learning more about our work in specific parts of the world. The search engine, which has advanced search capacity, will be powered by Google.

Despite the upgraded features of the new site, the main feature of this redesign is the data itself. Having worked in over 100 countries since being founded  in 1987, IFES has experience in every aspect of the electoral cycle in all regions of the globe.

The new IFES.org will better showcase the many papers, surveys and reports IFES has produced on electoral matters all over the world as well as our experts’ comments on what certain countries can do to improve their citizens’ access to the ballot.

Our multimedia products and photo galleries, which include poignant images of citizens making great efforts to be part of the democratic process and of countries implementing polls at different stages of their electoral development, will also be easier to access and navigate.

The new website will offer RSS feeds so that our visitors can stay more easily informed of our work.
