Sara Al-Utaibi, Deputy Chief of Party, Jordan
Sara Al-Utaibi serves as IFES’ Deputy Chief of Party in Jordan. She brings 15 years of experience to the table, including time spent with a variety of international non-profit organizations and the United Nations Refugee Agency. She has also served as Assistant to Her Majesty Queen Rania Al-Abdullah’s Advisor on Childhood and Public Health.
Al-Utaibi’s areas of expertise include electoral reform, program development and management, commodity procurement and training. She has assisted with the management of several United States Agency for International Development (USAID)-funded programs on electoral assistance, democracy and governance. She has also worked with a wide variety of stakeholders, including government officials, international donor organizations, international organizations and domestic implementing partners. During her time with IFES, Al-Utaibi initiated the first Memorandum of Understanding between IFES and the Jordanian Ministry of Interior. She has received accolades from USAID and the Government of Jordan for her contributions to Jordan’s current political reform process.
Al-Utaibi is a Building Resources in Democracy, Governance and Elections-accredited facilitator. She speaks Arabic and English and has a bachelor's degree in law from the University of Jordan and master’s degree in education from Huddersfield University.
