IFES Organizes First Pacific Regional Disability Rights Dialogue
The International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES), in collaboration with the Fijian Elections Office, the Pacific Disability Forum, and the Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat held the first ever Pacific Regional Disability Rights Dialogue from May 11-13. The conference, which took place alongside the Pacific Islands, Australia and New Zealand Electoral Administrators Network (PIANZEA) annual meeting in Nadi, Fiji, is the first region-wide gathering of election management officials and disability rights advocates from across the Pacific.

IFES Testifies on Capitol Hill on “Democracy Support Strategies in Africa”

IFES Launches 2016 Photo Contest
The International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES) 2016 Photography Contest showcases photos of elections and democracy from around the world. We encourage submissions of photographs of marginalized groups such as persons with disabilities, women, youth, and ethnic and religious minorities, among others. While democracy promotion is a subjective theme, photos that capture the essence of IFES’ core areas – Electoral Integrity, Participation and Inclusion, Accountability, and Women's Empowerment – are highly favored.

IFES Trains Indonesian Regional Election Administrators on Disability Rights
IFES, the lead partner in the General Network for Disability Access (AGENDA), piloted a disability rights and elections module of the Building Resources in Democracy, Governance, and Elections curriculum in Bogor, Indonesia from April 6-7, 2016. Participants discussed disability inclusion throughout the election cycle with regional Commissioners.
