In her over 22 years of service to the democratization process in Africa, Edna Koskey has worked with the African Union Commission, European Union, ECOWAS, IFES, NDI, and the Carter Center to provide technical support to election management bodies and (international and national) electoral observation missions in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Nigeria, Rwanda, South Sudan, Tanzania, Tunisia, Uganda and Zimbabwe. She has lived and worked in Kinshasa, DRC since 2011, where, until recently, she was the Carter Center’s Chief of Party for the USAID-funded Party Election Observation Activity.

Edna also worked in Kenya with the Electoral Commission; as part of civil society, where she worked on the Kenyan electoral reform agenda – specifically the revision of several electoral laws and the audit of the voter’s register; and with the Kenya national observation group (ELOG), having managed national observation missions, including the 2010 PVT on the referendum process. This support was also extended to other observation groups within the African continent, including in Nigeria.

Edna is also a BRIDGE Accrediting Facilitator, having facilitated several BRIDGE workshops in Africa.
