Lisa Weiner is the Media & Communications Specialist at the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES). She has a background in journalism and previously worked for NPR News, producing Morning Edition and the Up First podcast. In 2024, a story she produced was awarded a White House Correspondents’ Association prize for Excellence in Presidential News Coverage Under Deadline Pressure, Broadcast. While at NPR, she produced high-profile interviews with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Vice President Kamala Harris. She reported from Kyiv, Ukraine, in 2022 and covered the humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan in 2021. Prior to joining NPR, she held positions as an editor at WTOP-FM, as an engineer at Radio Free Asia, and recorded audiobooks for the Library of Congress. Weiner has a master's degree in audio technology from American University and an undergraduate degree in Economics from the University of Rochester. Weiner has lived in Israel and Budapest, Hungary.
