“A Non-Partisan Guide to Voting” compiled by the United Cerebral Palsy Associations in January of 1996, encourages voter registration amongst all Americans but primarily focuses on the disabled. This pamphlet provides necessary information on the 1996 Congressional Primaries as well as the positive impact the National Voter Registration Act, or “Motor Voter” has had on voter registration. The objective of this pamphlet is to emphasize the importance of voter registration and to provide services to ensure those who are disabled can also register.

“Promote the Vote: Maine Voter Guide 1996,” is a pamphlet that was prepared by Bill Diamond, Maine’s Secretary of State, in lead up to the November 1996 elections. The literature included sections on how to register to vote, when the next statewide election will occur and how to mark a ballot properly. The November 5, 1996 elections featured the presidential race between Democratic incumbent Bill Clinton and Republican nominee and former senate majority leader from Kansas, Bob Dole. Clinton would win Maine’s four electoral votes on his way to a second term.
