Published by the Instituto Federal Electoral (IFE) in 1997 before the July 6th, 1997 federal elections, this booklet provides information regarding offices up for election, updates to the Mexican electoral system, the electoral registry, campaign finance, and other important aspects of the Mexican election structure. Entitled, “1997 Federal Elections Process: Basic Information,” the objective of this booklet is to inform the Mexican public in order to promote increased voter participation.

1997 General Election Guide
“1997 General Election Guide” is a voter handbook, available in both Spanish and English, produced in 1997 by the New York City Campaign Finance Board, in lead up to the November 4, 1997 General Election. The guide is meant to provide voters with information about voting, to inform them about their rights as voters and the procedures that lead to a correct exercise of voting. It also provides short descriptions of each one of the offices for which candidates were running for and the profiles of candidates. Moreover, it includes a chapter on the NYC Campaign Finance Program, the Ballot Proposals and the innovative introduction of the NYC Campaign Finance Board Debates 1997.

This campaign advertisement that promotes Republican State Senator Mark Earley in his campaign to become Attorney General of Virginia was circulated prior to the November 4th, 1997 elections in Virginia. The advertisement features supportive quotes from members of Congress, a brief summary of Earley’s accomplishments as State Senator and a picture of Earley with his family under the slogan, “For our Families. For our Children.” This advertisement was produced by Friends of Mark Earley ’97.
