A Record of Serving All Virginians -- Earley, Attorney General
This campaign advertisement that promotes Republican State Senator Mark Earley in his campaign to become Attorney General of Virginia was circulated prior to the November 4th, 1997 elections in Virginia. The advertisement features supportive quotes from members of Congress, a brief summary of Earley’s accomplishments as State Senator and a picture of Earley with his family under the slogan, “For our Families. For our Children.” This advertisement was produced by Friends of Mark Earley ’97.

Advance Voting - It’s Your Option!
This 1997 flyer advertises advance voting option that will be available in Johnson County, Kansas. The literature points out all of the positive aspects to voting early and also provides some written instructions on casting an early ballot. Furthermore, included in this packet is an application for an advanced voting ballot.

“Now it’s your Turn” is a civic education pamphlet, available in Spanish, issued in 1997 by the “Decidamos” group in Paraguay as part of a national drive program to stimulate Paraguayan voters to register in the Permanent Civil Registry in order to be able to vote in the 1998 General Elections. The pamphlet briefly explains how to successfully register.

California Ballot Initiative Process
This 1997 document provides a summary of the California State procedure for qualifying ballot initiatives. The booklet goes over the petitioning process as well as the voting and approval process. Also included is an “Initiative Schedule Guide” which indicates the necessary time periods necessary to fulfill specific portions of the initiative process.

“Informative Guide about 1997 Registration” is a voter guide, available in Spanish, issued in 1997 by the “Decidamos” group in Paraguay as part of the voter participation drive program. The guide instructs all eligible voters on the procedures to be followed when registering, such as the documents required and place and time of registration. The voter guide is meant to stimulate voters to register in order to be able to exercise their right to vote.

“Collectivites Territoriales” is a pamphlet, available in French, created by the Conseil Electoral Provisoire (CEP) with the help of IFES, which provides background information to the Communal Elections in Haiti in April 1997. The document contains a calendar of different elections happening in 1997 in Haiti, including Municipal Elections, and an explanation of the government hierarchy.

“How Does One Vote?” is a poster, available in Spanish, issued in 1997 by the “Equipo Maiz” group in El Salvador, in lead up to the 1997 Legislative Election in El Salvador. The poster is meant to instruct voters on how to correctly exercise their right to vote. The poster contains pictures and brief explanations on the voting steps to be taken by the electors when going to the polls.
