Guide to Local Government Elections
“The Guide to Local Government Elections” training manual published in 1995 focuses on the concepts and implication of local governance in South Africa’s North West Province. The manual was released on the eve of democratization in rural South Africa and provides a wealth of information on the importance of local government and the overall election process. “The Guide,” was intended to educate the public on governmental procedures and assist with educating voters regarding the issues of the upcoming local elections.

“Project V.O.T.E Curriculum” is a guidebook of teaching strategies and resources for the implementation of Project V.O.T.E into existing Texas Curricula, published by the Office of the Secretary of State of Texas, and developed in order to raise children’s involvement and understanding of the political process. It contains a large source of information on Primary, Intermediate, Middle School, and High School teaching strategies of the electoral and political process of Texas. Some of the topics included are the History of Voting, Voting Procedures, Requirements for Voting, Political campaigns and the Women’s Suffrage Movement.

Voters Registry Revision and Elections Preparation: A Technical Assessment
This report concerns IFES efforts at voter registration in the Ivory Coast in 1994 for the national elections scheduled for 1995. The report includes notes from meetings with political parties, civic groups, government administrators, diplomatic corps and NGOs. The report discusses four major concern areas for the 1995 elections: lack of openness among the government, lack of participation in the revision process by opposition parties, the seamless relationship between the leading political party and the Ivoirian government and lastly, the vague laws regulating the electoral system in the Ivory Coast.

This report analyzes the elections from 1994 in Kazakhstan, which IFES declared to be “
the first really competitive multi-candidate elections in Kazakhstan's history.” Throughout the report the team identifies the strengths of the system and the positive aspects of the process which should serve as the foundation on which the CEC and lawmakers can continue to build. The legal framework is discussed as it relates to each specific component of the process.
