Tunisia Voter Registration & Voter Confidence Assessment Survey
Tunisia, the country that sparked the pro-democracy revolts across the Middle East and North Africa, is currently scheduled to hold elections for Constituent Assembly in July. IFES conducted a nationwide survey in late March and early April to gain insight into the citizenry’s expectations for these elections, the readiness of the electorate, and the general confidence in the elections process. The data provides powerful indicators of where Tunisians stand before the election.

Tunisia’s ongoing and rapid political change is likely to culminate in coming days on an agreement on the timeframe for presidential and parliamentary elections. Distribution of Parliamentary Seats for the 2009 Elections by Electoral District
Under the existing Electoral Code (Article 72), the number of seats contested for the 2009 Tunisian parliamentary elections was determined using a formula based on population data. There is one seat in parliament for every 48,700 of population (i.e. 214 seats in total).

“Instructive Guide of Electoral Verification and Education 2004” is an instructional workbook, available in Spanish, issued in 2004 by the Central Electoral Board of the Dominican Republic, in lead up to the 2004 Presidential Election. The workbook provides guidance and education for voters and election officials regarding electoral verification on the day of the elections. Additionally, the workbook contains some sample verification forms to familiarize election officials and voters with the procedures of electoral verification.

“The Presidential Ballot” is an informative brochure, available in Spanish, issued in 2004 by the Central Electoral Board in lead up to the May 16, 2004 Presidential Election in the Dominican Republic. Cartilla Educativa para Elecciones Ordinarias Generales Presidenciales 2004
“Educational Booklet for the Ordinary General Presidential Election” is an election guide, available in Spanish, issued in 2004 by the Central Electoral Board of the Dominican Republic, in lead up to the 2004 Presidential Election. The guide is meant to provide the election officials with detailed information about the procedures that would bring to a satisfactory development of the elections. The guide is a source of information for the election officials to understand the procedures before, during, and after the elections. It contains descriptions and explanations of each one of the four stages of the electoral process: organizing the elections, voting, scrutiny, and the results.

The booklet is meant to provide election officials and voters with information about the electoral colleges, the Election Day preparation, voter identification, and the scrutiny process. The booklet was designed to reproduce the concepts contained in the Dominican Electoral Law Nr. 275-97 to a more detailed and simple language.
