MMP explained in two ticks
“MMP Explained in 2 Ticks” is a page describing the basic principles of the Mixed Member Proportional system for voting for New Zealand’s members of Parliament. “How to Vote” is an informative document, available in Italian, issued in 1996 by the Ministry of Interior of Italy, in lead up to the April 21, 1996 Italian General Elections. The document contains instructions on how to mark the ballot and the sample ballots to be used when electing the members of the Chamber of Deputies and Senate of the Republic. Additionally, it contains a brief explanation on the opening time of the polling stations and the ballots to be used in the elections.

Your Guide to Voting in the 1996 General Election
“Your Guide to Voting in the 1996 General Elections” was published by Elections, New Zealand in 1996 in preparation for the October 12th, 1999 general elections. This booklet provides voter enrollment information, voting procedures, maps of electorates, a complete listing of polling stations, and common questions and answers. The voting instructions are provided in English, Chinese, Tongan, Korean, Maori, Cook Island Maori, Samoan, Tokelauan, and Niuean. A party list and a sample ballot are also provided in this booklet.

Published by Elections, New Zealand in 1996, “Instructions for Special Voting” provides detailed step-by-step instructions on special voting. Included are ballot samples, labeled directions, and directions and general voter information in order to assure that those in need of special voting have the same access to the right to vote as those who do not.

Chad Pre-Election Assessment Report: Multi-Donor Support Program for the Electoral Process
This report summarizes IFES observations from Chad in 1994. At the time, the Chadian government reached out to the international community for help in democratizing the nation. This report documents the transitional period to democracy, analyzes the political situation and provides political indicators gauging the Independent National Electoral Commission, political parties, civic education and civil service. The report concludes with recommendations for democratization in Chad.

MMP and the Economy
“MMP and the Economy” is a pamphlet published in 1993 by the Electoral Reform Coalition (ERC) which argues for the implementation of the Mixed Member Proportional proposed system of electing members of the New Zealand parliament. This pamphlet rejects the assertion that such a system would lead to economic ruin, arguing instead that the MMP would actually promote government stability. This ERC pamphlet also leaves readers the opportunity to donate money to the campaign to implement the MMP system into New Zealand.
