Code of Conduct for Civic Educators
“Code of Conduct for Civil Educators” is a 1996 publication that was aimed at supporting educational initiatives towards the Ugandan Constitution. The piece outlines the role of civic educators in Uganda as people who should foster strong voter turnout, as well as promote an open flow of knowledge so that voters can make the decision that is right for them. Furthermore this was published in 1996 the same year as the Ugandan presidential and parliamentary elections.

Voter Awareness Guide
The 1996 “Voter Awareness Guide” is written to inform voter educators on procedures they will have to undertake before the upcoming 1996 Presidential and Parliamentary elections in December. Instructions include details on the Voter Educator Outreach Programme, timelines and requirements of presentations on the importance of voting and the meaning of political posters. Also included is a question and brief answer section on general facts regarding the December elections.

Pre-Election Technical Assistance Mission, Chad, 1 - 24 November 1995
This report summarizes the pre-election technical assistance provided by IFES in Chad prior to elections in 1996. The report summarizes the on-the-spot assistance provided by IFES, the development of an electoral calendar and efforts devoted to voter registration. The report also includes a list of problems with the planned elections ranging from political and institutional problems to questions about security. The report concludes with recommendations for elections in Chad. Included with the report are several documents concerning electoral law, regulations and the constitution of Chad.

“Voters’ Registration News” is a special feature published by the Electoral Commission of Ghana in September 1995 in preparation for the 1996 presidential and parliamentary elections. This article explains the new registration process and provides general election and voting information including an illustrated step-by-step process of the new voter registration. This article was funded by Supporting the Electoral Process (STEP) with a grant from USAID and IFES.

This report focuses on the second phase of project activities in Malawi, specifically, IFES efforts at strengthening democratic institutions in the country. This report concerns IFES efforts at voter registration in the Ivory Coast in 1994 for the national elections scheduled for 1995. The report includes notes from meetings with political parties, civic groups, government administrators, diplomatic corps and NGOs. The report discusses four major concern areas for the 1995 elections: lack of openness among the government, lack of participation in the revision process by opposition parties, the seamless relationship between the leading political party and the Ivoirian government and lastly, the vague laws regulating the electoral system in the Ivory Coast.
