“Register Now” was produced by Black Sash, the South African Catholic Bishops’ Conference, and the South African Council of Churches in 1995 in order to urge South Africans to vote in the October local elections. Not only does this document repeatedly promote the importance of voter participation, but ensures voter confidentiality. “Technikon and Chris SA” is a story booklet that was sponsored by International Business Machines (IBM) of South Africa and published by Solidarity Publications. The booklet was released in 1995, the same year as the South African local elections, and was aimed at educating the public on the election process. The piece also tries to enhance voter efficacy by indicating all of the beneficial aspects of voting.
