IFES is Awarded USAID Grant to Promote Peaceful and Transparent 2010 Elections in Burundi
IFES has been awarded a USAID cooperative agreement for a 19-month $1 million program in Burundi. The project, "Promoting Peaceful and Transparent 2010 Elections in Burundi," seeks to promote peaceful and transparent presidential, legislative and communal elections in 2010. These elections are seen by many in Burundi as a pivotal element in the country’s path to continuous peace.

Political Finance in Post-Conflict Societies
This study of political finance in post-conflict society identifies lessons learned from international donor-funded efforts to support political processes in post-conflict environments in general and the funding of political parties and campaign finance in particular. The document consists of eight case studies that seek to improve our understanding not only of the political dynamics of post-conflict situations but also of how to rally international support for holding elections and supporting democratization under such circumstances.

“Campagne nationale d’education a la citoyenneté: Conférence – Débat” is a pamphlet from 2005, available in French, which explains the electoral system and the different facets of the constitution in Guinea – mostly importantly it tries to educate citizens on how they can have access to the government and its services by participating in politics. Democracy, Economy and Gender In Uganda: A Report of a National Sample Survey
In the run-up to Uganda's referendum of June 2000, a national survey was conducted of a representative cross-section of 2271 adult Ugandan citizens. The survey covered all four regions of the country (northern, eastern, central and western), including 36 of the 45 administrative districts. The purpose of the survey was to assess popular attitudes to democracy, economy, civil society and gender.
