Droits et Promotion de la Femme
“Droits et Promotion de la Femme” is a pamphlet from 1996, available in French, which seeks to explain why women in the Democratic Republic of Congo have been discriminated against and gives possible solutions in order to give women more rights and better their position in society and the economy. The document is published by a Christian group called l’Epiphanie and also touches on women’s place in the Church and spiritual solutions to the problem. Overall, the pamphlet makes the point that as democracy becomes important in Africa, countries should try and increase women’s rights in order to hold true to the values of democracy.

“No Voting=No Speaking” is a voter pamphlet, available in Romanian, issued in 1996 by the Pro Democracy Association in lead up to the 1996 Parliamentary and Presidential Elections in Romania. The pamphlet is intended to stimulate people to express their right to vote. The pamphlet depicts a person having his mouth zipped up, thus the title of the pamphlet.

In March, 1992, IFES sent a two-person team to undertake a comprehensive assessment of the election process in Romania and the ability and willingness of the Government to conduct parliamentary elections, which would be deemed to be free, fair and open by established international standards. Your Last Chance to Register
“Your Last Chance to Register” is a political flyer intended to remind South Africans that April 28th 1995 is the last day to register to vote in local elections. The flyer indicates how to register as well as what the positive and negative aspects of voting are. One example of a positive reason to vote is the ability to support the “RDP,” the African National Congress’ Reconstruction and Development Programme. A version in Afrikaans is also provided.
