In response to a recent study by Max Grömping entitled The Integrity of Elections in Asia: Policy Lessons from Expert Evaluations, IFES produced a briefing paper with some examples of policy lessons applied in practice across Asia. Preventing and Mitigating Electoral Violence in Guatemala
The ability for people to participate in elections free from the fear of harm is essential to inclusive, credible elections and protected by the right to human security and universal suffrage. In Central America, and more particularly in Guatemala, this freedom of fear has not been a reality for many citizens. To help address this problem, IFES has been providing technical support to the Guatemalan Supreme Electoral Tribunal on electoral violence prevention and response coordination since 2011.

Assessment of Electoral Preparations in the Democratic Republic of the Congo
In March 2018, the Consortium for Elections and Political Process Strengthening assessed the status of electoral preparations in the Democratic Republic of the Congo ahead of the presidential, legislative, and provincial assembly elections scheduled for December 23, 2018. The goal of the assessment was to suggest potential interventions that the United States Government and other international actors could support to achieve key benchmarks of credible electoral preparation.
