Guatemala’s Supreme Electoral Tribunal and USAID Formalize Cooperation on Electoral Processes
On March 26, Guatemala’s Supreme Electoral Tribunal (TSE) signed a letter of understanding (LoU) with USAID to formalize their cooperation through the Consortium for Elections and Political Process Strengthening “Electoral Governance and Reforms Program.” IFES worked with USAID and the TSE to finalize the LoU draft prior to the ceremony.

Africa Director Rushdi Nackerdien Briefs the UN Security Council on the DRC

Regional Director on “The Elections We Want” in Africa
As part of its annual report, the Wilson Center Africa Program asked IFES Regional Director for Africa Rushdi Nackerdien to contribute an essay on recent African elections. Guatemalan National Disability Council Proposes Electoral Law Reform to Increase Access
On October 31, the National Council for Persons with Disabilities (CONADI) presented proposed reforms to the Elections and Political Parties Law (LEPP) to the Congressional Disabilities Affairs Committee and to the Board of Magistrates of the Supreme Electoral Tribunal (TSE). IFES provided technical assistance and key thematic inputs to CONADI throughout the process of drafting recommended updates to the LEPP.
