In order to educate and encourage the Ghanaian public, the Electoral Commission of Ghana produced this comic strip in 1995, a year before the national elections. Aimed directly at the youth population, this comic strip provides information regarding the new registration process, voting rules and qualifications, and other facets of basic electoral knowledge. “The Freedom of Choosing” is an informative brochure, available in Portuguese, published in June, 1994 by the National Electoral Commission of Guinea-Bissau. The guide explains the importance of being granted the liberty to choose and to participate in elections without being pressured to elect a certain political party. The message in the guide is sent through cartoons and some short dialogues between the members of a family in the Guinea-Bissau.

“Education Civique” is a teaching guide from 1994, available in French, which provides a history of Guinean politics and an explanation of the government structure, citizen rights, decentralization and the constitution in Guinea. The document, published by SAEC (Societe Africaine d’Edition et de Communication), is split up into different sections based on the schooling level – with each level covering different topics of civic education and games and quizzes throughout the booklet.
