Strengths and Challenges of Mexico’s Electoral Reforms
From April 29 to May 5, 2018, IFES, with the support of the Inter-American Institute of Human Rights, participated in a Mission of Technical Accompaniment in Mexico City to analyze the reforms, identify their strengths and anticipate the potential challenges the country will face during its 2018 electoral processes. From June 28 to July 1, the mission returned to Mexico City to conduct follow-up interviews and observations during Election Day on July 1, 2018.

Promoting Regional Cooperation in Latin America to Fight Fake News
With the spread of fake news undermining electoral processes worldwide, it has become crucial for the success and security of elections that authorities learn how to identify and counter misinformation efforts. Electoral Justice Assessment of the 2018 Mexican Elections
Under a Memorandum of Understanding signed in December 2017, IFES and the Electoral Tribunal of the Federal Judicial Branch of Mexico are collaborating on research, program implementation, and the sharing of knowledge in mutual priority areas. As part of this collaboration, for the 2018 Mexican elections IFES will deploy two assessment missions, pre- and post-election, to examine electoral justice processes.
