IFES Trains Indonesian Regional Election Administrators on Disability Rights
IFES, the lead partner in the General Network for Disability Access (AGENDA), piloted a disability rights and elections module of the Building Resources in Democracy, Governance, and Elections curriculum in Bogor, Indonesia from April 6-7, 2016. Participants discussed disability inclusion throughout the election cycle with regional Commissioners.

Female feticide, infanticide and neglect of girls has been widely practiced in India with alarming implications on the rate of missing girls. By 2005, India’s ratio of girls to boys had declined so steeply that there were fewer than 900 Indian girls born for every 1,000 boys – one of the lowest rates worldwide.

South Asian Disability Rights Advocates Secure Key Advocacy Win
From October 1-3, 2015, the first “South Asia Regional Disability Rights Dialogue on Political Participation” brought together more than 80 representatives from 34 organizations including disabled people’s organizations, election management bodies, media, and international organizations from the eight countries in South Asia, and the Philippines, Indonesia and Fiji in the broader Asia-Pacific region.
