“Les Fruits de l’Illégalité sont Amers” is an essay, believed to have been published in 1998, which explains to readers that Haiti is at a decisive crossroads in between democracy and dictatorship. The crisis between Legislature and Executive is creating a political struggle and this document, available in French, provides historical information on the political development of Haiti with the reoccurring theme that in times of crisis, resorting to illegal activities has led to bitter consequences.
