IFES Statement on the Passing of John McCain
The Board of Directors and staff of IFES mourn the passing of U.S. Senator John McCain on August 25, 2018, at the age of 81. Through his leadership of the International Republican Institute for 25 years, as well as his constant advocacy for the causes of political and human rights in countries under challenge and on the floor of the U.S. Senate, Senator McCain was relentless on behalf of our “moral obligation to continue in our just cause."
