How Students Elected a president
In May of 1996, Altay Kozhaev wrote this article in the New Generation, entitled “How Students Elected a President,” which discusses a political game played by Kazakh first and second graders in a local school. Kozhaev explains the game, conducted in the frame “Days of Political Science,” and continues to present the election process of these students as a serious one, emphasizing to the Kazakh people the importance of political education in Kazakh youth. Overview: National Surveys of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan
IFES conducted surveys in Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan in 1995. The public opinion survey is part of its election administration and voter education support project in Central Asia. The topics in the surveys include a range of issues related to development of multi-party politics, legal reform, non-governmental organizations, and the election system in each country.
