We do not want to be non-political
“We do Not Want to be Apolitical” is an article, originally available in Russian and translated into English, written in 1996 by Natalya Vorobtsova, Aliya Rustemova in the “Kazakhstanskaya Pravda” newspaper in Kazakhstan and which briefly describes a political science game organized by Gulnara Kanapievna in Kazakhstan. The article also touches on the importance of having young people actively participate and understand the political life of the country.

The handbook explains and describes the concept of political leadership and its implications, such as the abilities a leader must possess, his/her qualities, his/her responsibilities and political and social status. Overview: National Surveys of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan
IFES conducted surveys in Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan in 1995. The public opinion survey is part of its election administration and voter education support project in Central Asia. The topics in the surveys include a range of issues related to development of multi-party politics, legal reform, non-governmental organizations, and the election system in each country.

Situacion Juridica de la Mujer
“The Legal Situation of Women” is an informative handbook, available in Spanish, issued in 1995 by the Popular Legal Support Center in Panama. The handbook presents a thorough description of the women’s project implemented by the Popular Legal Support Center. The description covers the specific steps taken towards the implementation of the program through the diagnosis of the women’s situation in Panama. A certain number of women of all backgrounds were key elements of the study that helped detect the factors that affect the overall knowing and use of rights by women. The handbook contains the conclusions of the study and tables that justify the outcome of the diagnosis, as well as it presents an analysis on the legal situation of women, specifically in the labor field.

El Maltrato a Menores en Panama
"Child Abuse in Panama” is a civic education booklet, available in Spanish, issued in 1996 by the Popular Legal Support Center in Panama. The booklet comes as a reflection of the Family Code and the Law nr. 27 from June 16, 1995, regarding domestic violence and child abuse. The booklet includes the following: basic concepts on child abuse, the Family Code, classification of child abuse, specialized instances that deal with victims of child abuse, and causes of child abuse. Additionally, it contains a series of recommendations made by the Popular Legal Support Center in Panama, in an effort to reduce child abuse-related occurrences.

Technical Election Assessment, March 1994
This report analyzes the elections from 1994 in Kazakhstan, which IFES declared to be “
the first really competitive multi-candidate elections in Kazakhstan's history.” Throughout the report the team identifies the strengths of the system and the positive aspects of the process which should serve as the foundation on which the CEC and lawmakers can continue to build. The legal framework is discussed as it relates to each specific component of the process.
