IFES Organizes Training on Countering Disinformation in Elections in Panama
On April 8-9, IFES implemented a workshop on “Electoral Coverage in an Era of Disinformation” in Panama City for 48 journalists, candidate representatives and Electoral Tribunal (TE) staff. The interactive workshop was organized in partnership with the TE and funded by the United States Embassy in Panama.

Promoting Regional Cooperation in Latin America to Fight Fake News

With this goal in mind, IFES organized two virtual peer-to-peer technical exchange sessions on media for Guatemala’s Supreme Electoral Tribunal in August 2018.

Advancing Disability Rights in Southeast Asia through Regional Network of Advocates
In 2011, IFES established the General Election Network for Disability Access (AGENDA) across Southeast Asia. A creative partnership between disabled persons’ organizations (DPOs) and election-focused civil society organizations, AGENDA serves as a forum to improve access to political and electoral opportunities for persons with disabilities by increasing public awareness and elevating advocacy efforts that call for change.
