Citizen Participation in Natural Resource Management in Niger
It is critical to the security and economic development of Niger that citizens' voices are heard. IFES is working with local partners to increase awareness of the risks and rights of workers in the extractive resources industry, including uranium, oil and gold. IFES is also working to develop partnerships between civil society organizations and government to ensure citizens understand and participate in resource management decisions.

Paving the Way for Inclusive Elections in Zimbabwe

One of this government’s main tasks is to draft a new constitution for the country that will determine, among other things, the country’s electoral framework. Although the constitution of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) makes provisions for parity between men and women with a view to fair and equitable participation in the management of the city (Mbuji-Mayi), this participation remains only theoretical, despite the country’s ratification of treaties on the elimination of all forms of discrimination against women. The Kenya Diaspora Workshop: Considerations for Out-of-Country Voting
A mandate of the newly appointed Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) of Kenya is to enable diaspora voting. In order to promote better understanding among officials and leaders of the Kenyan diaspora on out-of-country voting, IFES hosted a workshop describing the complexities surrounding the implementation of this process.
