“The Freedom of Choosing” is an informative brochure, available in Portuguese, published in June, 1994 by the National Electoral Commission of Guinea-Bissau. The guide explains the importance of being granted the liberty to choose and to participate in elections without being pressured to elect a certain political party. The message in the guide is sent through cartoons and some short dialogues between the members of a family in the Guinea-Bissau.

A general election was held in Malawi on 17 May 1994. This ballot was used to elect the Malawian President. The candidates in the election were Bakili MULUZI (United Democratic Front), Hastings BANDA (Malawi Congress Party), and Chakufwa CHIHANA (Alliance for Democracy).

List of Media Projects
The IFEE Media Commission Evaluation Workshop held on 24-26 May 1994 published a list of media projects undertaken as part of IFEE’s voter education media programme. Included on the list are print media projects such as the comic book “Our Time to Choose” and audio visual materials such as the “What is Democracy” video. A bulk of the material is focused around the slogan “Heal Our Land.” The phrase was the theme of a television series, educational audio cassettes and was also found on t-shirts, bumper stickers and posters.
