“Promote the Vote: Maine Voter Guide 1996,” is a pamphlet that was prepared by Bill Diamond, Maine’s Secretary of State, in lead up to the November 1996 elections. The literature included sections on how to register to vote, when the next statewide election will occur and how to mark a ballot properly. The November 5, 1996 elections featured the presidential race between Democratic incumbent Bill Clinton and Republican nominee and former senate majority leader from Kansas, Bob Dole. Clinton would win Maine’s four electoral votes on his way to a second term.
