Photo Gallery: Pacific Women with Disabilities Empowered to Advocate with Government Officials
IFES partnered with the Pacific Disability Forum to train 15 women with a diverse range of disabilities in September 2019 as part of the “Power to Persuade” program. The training enhanced participants’ public speaking and advocacy skills and provided a platform to share their work, highlight best practices and discuss lessons learned.

Reporting on Elections Accurately and Impartially: Training for Journalists in Fiji
As Fiji prepares to hold its next general elections, strengthening the accuracy of election reporting and promoting informed electoral analyses is a critical priority. On December 18, Ivoirian voters will elect 255 members of the National Assembly, the lower house of Parliament. Following the approval of a new constitution via an October 2016 referendum, National Assembly members will be elected for four-year terms instead of five, as was previously the case.

IFES Organizes First Pacific Regional Disability Rights Dialogue
The International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES), in collaboration with the Fijian Elections Office, the Pacific Disability Forum, and the Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat held the first ever Pacific Regional Disability Rights Dialogue from May 11-13. The conference, which took place alongside the Pacific Islands, Australia and New Zealand Electoral Administrators Network (PIANZEA) annual meeting in Nadi, Fiji, is the first region-wide gathering of election management officials and disability rights advocates from across the Pacific.
