La République de Guinée, depuis décembre 1990 a pris option pour un mode d’organisation de sa société, fondé sur le libéralisme économique et politique. Le régime politique qui a été mis en place en Guinée dans le cadre de la Loi Fondamentale du 23 décembre 1990, renforcé par la Loi Constitutionnelle du 11 novembre 2001, est celui présidentiel avec une large prépondérance du Président de la République, Chef de l’Exécutif.

“Campagne nationale d’education a la citoyenneté: Conférence – Débat” is a pamphlet from 2005, available in French, which explains the electoral system and the different facets of the constitution in Guinea – mostly importantly it tries to educate citizens on how they can have access to the government and its services by participating in politics. The document, published with the help of IFES, contains a glossary of terms connected to human rights and a letter serving as an example for how to file a complaint.

“The Importance of Women’s Vote” is an informative brochure, available in both Portuguese and Creole, published in 1999 by the NGO “PROMOCONSULT” in Guinea-Bissau, in lead up to the November, 1999 General Election in Guinea-Bissau. The guide is specifically meant to encourage women’s participation in the elections and to educate them on the importance of voting and freedom to choose that comes with it. The guide is comprised of cartoons and short dialogues between several women at a local gathering.
