“How to Vote in the May 2000 Presidential Election” is an informative handbook, available in Spanish, issued in 2000 by Vianela Diaz from the civic education movement organization “Citizen Participation” in lead up to the 2000 Presidential Election in the Dominican Republic. The handbook is meant to help voluntary observers to understand the practices of vote casting. The documents starts off with a description of the history of elections in the Dominican Republic and its importance, an explanation of the 1994 electoral reform and lastly, a description of the voting procedures on the day of the elections.

“General Rules of Procedure; Electoral Regulations” is an informational booklet, available in Spanish, issued in 1999 by the “Citizen Participation” movement in the Dominican Republic. The booklet identifies the general rules within the civic movement organization called “Citizen Participation.” The booklet names the conditions of becoming a member of the civic movement organization, the rights of the institutions within the organization, explains and describes the main institutional components of the organization. Moreover, it lays out the attributes one must meet in order to be elected as a member for the institutional units of the organization.
