Ecuador held general elections on 19 May 1996. This ballot was used to elect the President and Vice-President of Ecuador, who ran on a joint ticket. The main candidates in the election were Abdala BUCARAM (Ecuadorian Roldosist Party), Jaime NEBOT (Social Christian Party) and Freddy EHLERS (Pachakutik).

The piece outlines the role of civic educators in Uganda as people who should foster strong voter turnout, as well as promote an open flow of knowledge so that voters can make the decision that is right for them. Furthermore this was published in 1996 the same year as the Ugandan presidential and parliamentary elections.
