Haitian Election Management Body Trained on Monitoring and Evaluation
From July 2-20, IFES partnered with Haiti's Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) to conduct a monitoring and evaluation training for directors and managers from all 10 departments and units of the CEP. Through this training, IFES provided staff with the knowledge and tools to monitor and evaluate their daily and elections-related activities, developing the CEP’s long-term professional and technical capacity to improve internal systems and procedures.

On June 11, "She Leads" alumna Chanthy Hoy spoke on a side panel at the United Nations Conference of States Parties to the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. She spoke of the potential of women with disabilities to achieve and thrive in positions of leadership and how it is incumbent upon the international community to continue to support programs that instill a sense of self-worth and confidence in young women.

From March 18-28, IFES partnered with Haiti’s Provisional Electoral Council to conduct a Building Resources in Democracy, Governance and Elections (BRIDGE) train-the-facilitators workshop in Port-au-Prince. The training aims to give participants the opportunity to learn more about the management and operations of electoral processes and expand their training capabilities.

Update of Haiti’s National Strategy on Gender and Elections
IFES is working with local women’s and human rights organizations in Haiti to update the National Strategy on Gender and Elections (SNGE) ahead of the country’s October 2019 legislative elections. On January 15, IFES conducted a workshop that served as a platform for representatives from these organizations to provide input on and suggest changes to each of the seven themes addressed by the SNGE.
