La Democracia Paraguaya esta en tus manos
“The Paraguayan Democracy is in your Hands” is an electoral flyer, available in Spanish, issued in 2000 by IFES and the Superior Tribunal of Electoral Justice in Paraguay in lead up to the August 13, 2000 Paraguayan Vice-presidential Election. The flyer is meant to stimulate voters to get informed on the duties performed by the Vice-President and to motivate them to exercise their right to vote on the day of the elections.

National Elections Manual
The “National Elections Manual” is a booklet that was released in the year 2000 and is broken into two parts, one on civic education and one on voter education. The section on civic education defines citizenship, outlines the branches of the Ugandan government and discusses the link between the constitution and the people. Section two on voter education focuses on the registration of voters, the nomination of candidates the process of voting.

Jornada Electoral
“Election Day” is an informative handbook, available in Spanish, issued in 2000 by IFES Paraguay in lead up to the 2000 Paraguayan Vice-Presidential Elections. The document offers some details about the Election Day by revealing the preliminary electoral results and the final ones at different hours throughout the Election Day. The official final results benefit the PLRA party, and the ANR who came second. Additionally, it contains the voter’s brochures used to instruct voters on how to vote.

Certificado de Votacion
“Voter’s Certificate” is a sample voting certificate, available in Spanish, issued in 2000 in Paraguay in lead up to the August 13, 2000 Paraguayan General Elections. The voting certificate is meant to familiarize voters with the certificate to be used when going to the polling stations for the election of the vice-president of the Republic. The certificate requests information such as: name/last name, district, identity card number and the signature of the president of the directive table.

Challenges for Citizens
“Challenges for Citizens” is a booklet published in lead up to the 2000 Ugandan referendum. The literature urges citizens to take part in the electoral process by voting but also cautions that more work after the referendum will be needed to insure a fully functioning and free society. The piece also details the contents of the Ugandan Constitution and focuses on how a democratic state to function. Throughout the article Ugandans are urged to take an active role in their country’s democracy and electoral process.

This is a civic education poster from the 2000 Ugandan Referendum election. The poster's scene depicts many aspects of Ugandan life including meeting with friends in the market, talking with local religious figures and displaying strong social capital. The poster was aimed at creating voter efficacy around a shared sense of community in lead up to the referendum on choosing a political system for the country.

Democracy Your handbook
“Democracy Your handbook” was published in 2000 by MS Uganda, the same year as a national referendum to decide the political system of the country. The audience of this handbook was the general Ugandan population and its objective was to proffer a new way of looking at democracy. The booklet defines democracy as not only a means of governance but also as a way to interact with your neighbors, family and friends. The booklet focuses on topics such as family values, community cohesion and organizing as well as government transparency as important pieces to a sound democracy.

Questions and Answers about the Referendum
“Questions and Answers about the Referendum” was distributed in April of 2000 in lead up to the referendum on choosing Uganda’s political system. The pamphlet includes answers to questions such as, “What is the difference between a referendum and an election,” “what will happen if the majority of voters reject ‘The Movement’ system” and “when will the referendum take place.” Also included are descriptions of “The Movement” and “Multi Party Systems.”
