With the launch of their report on May 18, 2018, Samuhik Abhiyan revealed that over half of candidates monitored exceeded the legal spending limits.

Supporting ASEAN to Mainstream Disability Rights
The Association of Southeast Asian Nations' (ASEAN) Intergovernmental Commission on Human Rights launched an initiative to develop a new regional instrument to mainstream the rights of persons with disabilities across all its development objectives, the ASEAN Enabling Masterplan 2025: Mainstreaming the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. In May 2017, the ASEAN General Election Network for Disability Access began providing inputs to the task force’s draft plan.

Promoting Voting Rights for Persons with Disabilities in Sri Lanka
In February 2018, Sri Lanka held a local government election to elect over 8,000 representatives under a new mixed-member proportional representation system. Papua New Guinea Develops Strategic Plan Ahead of 2022 National Election
The Papua New Guinea Electoral Commission (PNGEC), with the support of IFES, conducted its strategic planning process from October 2017 to March 2018 with the aim of developing its 2018-2022 Corporate Plan. The plan will guide the PNGEC over the next five years through its preparation for the 2022 national election and implementation of long-term civic education, inclusion and legal reform initiatives.
