MENA Director Testifies on Capitol Hill on “Democracy and Governance in the Middle East and North Africa”
On November 7, 2017, IFES Regional Director for the Middle East and North Africa Zeinab Abdelkarim provided testimony to the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on the Middle East and North Africa. She was invited to speak to Members of Congress about “Democracy and Governance in the Middle East and North Africa,” in particular about impediments to reforms and what Congress and the administration can do to better achieve democracy and governance goals in the region.

Electoral Administration Better Prepared For A Stronger Democracy
The International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in partnership with the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) organized two workshops in recent weeks on the Building Resources in Democracy, Governance, and Elections (BRIDGE) Program. Helping Persons with Disabilities Vote
Throughout the years, IFES programs across the world have worked on projects to help those with disabilities gain access to the election process. These projects include efforts to form policy about the right for those with disabilities to vote and campaigns to assist disabled voters on polling day. Here are examples of some of IFES’s past efforts across the world to increase election access for the disabled.
