Update of Haiti’s National Strategy on Gender and Elections
IFES is working with local women’s and human rights organizations in Haiti to update the National Strategy on Gender and Elections (SNGE) ahead of the country’s October 2019 legislative elections. On January 15, IFES conducted a workshop that served as a platform for representatives from these organizations to provide input on and suggest changes to each of the seven themes addressed by the SNGE.

From January 31-February 1, IFES and a Building Resources in Democracy, Governance and Elections (BRIDGE) facilitator implemented Guatemala's first BRIDGE Electoral Administration and Accessibility training. Promoting the Political Empowerment of Youth with Disabilities in the Dominican Republic
On December 13, 27 Dominican youth with disabilities celebrated completing the Engaging a New Generation for Accessible Governance and Elections course at the Iberoamerican University (UNIBE) in Santo Domingo. The eight-week course on leadership and political processes was developed through collaboration between IFES, UNIBE and the Disability Alliance for Our Rights as part of the United States Agency for International Development-funded project, “Political Leadership of Youth with Disabilities in the Dominican Republic.”
