Kids Voting USA New Hampshire
“Kids Voting USA,” is a pamphlet that was distributed in lead up to the midterm local and Congressional elections in 1998. The pamphlet was part of a two fold movement to get parents to bring their children with them to the polls in New Hampshire as a way to educate them in the many facets of the electoral process and simultaniously spur voter turnout. Included in the literature was a sample ballot and the “Kids Voting USA” news letter featuring articles on the projected success of the organization's initiative as well as the program’s goals and philosophy.

Les mots ont la parole
“Les mots ont la Parole” is a booklet, available in both French and Creole and created by the International Civil Mission in Haiti, which features a story book about the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The document, released in 1998, celebrates the 50th anniversary of the declaration of human rights by reaching out to children in Haiti and educating them about human rights and the importance of justice, equality, liberty, friendship and peace.

Les eleves haitiens disent et dessinent les droits de l'homme
“Les Eleves Haitiens disent et dessinent les Droits de l’Homme” is a booklet which features poems in Creole and French and the drawings from Haitian schoolchildren obtained from a picture contest organized by UNESCO to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The booklet, published in 1998 in Haiti, is made up of many drawings, each followed by a poem on the subjects of justice, equality, liberty, friendship and peace.

“Democratic Challenge” is a civic education handbook, available in Spanish, issued in 1998 by the “Decidamos” group in Paraguay and is intended to promote debates about democratic coexistence, knowledge about the functions to be held by the authorities to be elected in the next elections, and voting criteria among young Paraguayan citizens. The document contains activities with situation cards to be discussed in groups.

This document was released by the Illinois State Board of Elections in 1998. The piece was intended to energize the electorate and spur a high voter turnout for that year’s mid-term congressional and local elections and for future elections to come. The literature covered sections on absentee voting, election-day procedures, and how to close the polls.

“Free+Young=Our Democracy” is a civic education poster, available in Spanish, developed in Paraguay in 1998 by IFES in lead up to the May 10, 1998 General elections and intended to educate voters on the importance of voting. The poster contains election-oriented information, such as the time and place of voting, what are voters voting for as well as the voting procedures.
