The vote -- a basic American Freedom
“The Vote a Basic American Freedom,” was produced in St. Louis County, Missouri by the city’s Board of Election Commissioners in lead up to the 1990 general elections. The piece contains information on voter identification, election-day procedure, absentee voting, electronic voting and where one may register to vote. The pamphlet was released prior to the first congressional elections of the presidency of George H.W. Bush.

Thousands Fought for your Right to Vote
In this letter to residents of Louisiana issued by the state, the headline “Thousands Fought For Your Right to Vote” is used to compel residents to provide correct mailing addresses to the state in order to maintain individual voter registration. A form is provided to submit corrected addressed and a November 15th, 1990 deadline is given.

Celebrate your Freedom
“Celebrate Your Freedom” published by Wyoming Secretary of State Kathy Karpan, serves both as a 1990 Wyoming General Election guide and an emotional appeal to residents to register and participate in voting. Karpan invokes current struggles for democracy across the world to persuade Wyoming citizens to take advantage of the American democratic liberty of voting. This pamphlet also includes information on four proposed amendment, basic registration information, and offices up for election on November 6th, 1990.

Those elections would feature local and congressional offices on the ballot. “Because Every Vote Counts: You May Choose Where You'll be Voting!” is a flyer from 1989, available in a French and English copy, with the objective of informing voters from Quebec, Canada, who have temporarily left their domicile that they may choose to vote in the 1989 General Election to elect members of the National Assembly from a location other than their permanent Canadian address. The document, published by the Director General of Elections in Quebec, is aimed at students, workers and hospitalized persons; and reminds them to register their names on the electoral list in order to vote.
