Ecuador Consulta Popular Ballot 1997
On 25 May 1997, Ecuadorians voted in a series of 14 referendums. The referendum was called after the removal of President Abdala BUCARAM from office by the National Assembly. Voters cast ballots regarding whether they agreed with his removal, in addition to the appointment of Fabian ALARCON Rivera as the new president.

“Democratization of the Political Culture and Practices: Work Plan of the “Citizen Participation” 1997-2002” is an informational brochure, available in Spanish, issued in 1997 by the “Citizen Participation” movement in the Dominican Republic. The brochure contains the attributes of the work plan the “Citizen Participation” movement is trying to achieve during 1997-2002. The work plan reflects the goal of the civic education group to democratize the political culture while creating a conscientious and informed community. Additionally, attached to the document are statements and letters discussing the history of previous elections and the present efforts to implement electoral observation; the concern and commitment to maintain minimum female quota law in the 1998 Congressional and Municipal Elected officials.

Red Ciudadana de Observadores Electorales: Memorias 1996
“Citizens’ Network of Electoral Observers: Memories of 1996” is an informational booklet, available in Spanish, issued in 1996 by the “Citizen Participation” movement in the Dominican Republic. The booklet describes the formation and functioning of a citizen-based election observer network for the 1996 Presidential Election in the Dominican Republic. The three chapters focus on the context the network of observers emerged from, the creation and the structure of the network, as well as the role it had in the election observing process.
