Las Elecciones Congesionales y Municipales y La Participation Ciudadana
“The Congressional and Municipal Elections and the Citizen Participation” is an informational booklet, available in Spanish, issued in 1998 by the “Citizen Participation” movement in the Dominican Republic, in lead up to the May 1998 Congressional and Municipal Elections in the Dominican Republic. In the first chapter of the booklet one can find the description of the Dominican Electoral System and its history, the meaning of the attributes of voting, and an insight into the role of the electoral authorities. The second chapter thoroughly describes the upcoming 1998 Municipal and Congressional Elections, while the next two chapters explain the role of citizens’ participation through the act of voting in the decision-making process of the Dominican society. Additionally, the booklet contains a table with the numbers of officials to be elected for each locality.

“Once Upon a Time” is a civic education material, available in Spanish, issued in 1998 by the “Decidamos” Public Expression Group in Paraguay in an effort to familiarize the public on some political matters. The document explains in a simplified manner, using brief text and comics, the deputy/ president functions, how they are put into office and what a person must do if one wishes to become a deputy/president.

The document lists and explains the steps needed to take when voting, as well as it explains what will people vote for in these elections.

“Guide for the Members of the Polling Stations” is an informative manual, available in Spanish, issued in 1998 by the Superior Tribunal of Electoral Justice in Paraguay in lead up to the May 10, 1998 General Elections. The manual is intended to instruct the members of the polling stations on their duties during the elections in order to ensure an adequate and transparent development of the electoral occurrences. The guidebook contains general information about the upcoming elections and the structure of the polling station, and information on the proceeding before, during, and after the elections.

“Neembucu Requests Work Sources and wants to Overcome Isolation” is a periodical article, available in Spanish, issued in 1998 by the “ABC” newsletter in Paraguay and intended to familiarize voters with the 1998 Paraguayan General Election.
