1997 Federal Election process : Basic information
Published by the Instituto Federal Electoral (IFE) in 1997 before the July 6th, 1997 federal elections, this booklet provides information regarding offices up for election, updates to the Mexican electoral system, the electoral registry, campaign finance, and other important aspects of the Mexican election structure. Entitled, “1997 Federal Elections Process: Basic Information,” the objective of this booklet is to inform the Mexican public in order to promote increased voter participation.

“Analysis of Political Platforms” is an informative handbook, available in Spanish, published in 1997 by the ANCIFEM (National Civic Association for Women) in Mexico, in lead up to the July 6, 1997 Mexican Parliamentary Elections. The document is an analysis of the proposals made by five of the eight registered political parties in their electoral platforms on the issues of education, ecology, security, economy and family.

Supporting the Electoral Process in Ghana, Results of the 1996 Presidential and Parliamentary Elections , 7 December 1996
This report begins with an announcement from The Great Alliance, a political grouping formed by the New Patriotic Party and the People’s Convention party. The announcement critiques the 1996 general elections in Ghana and discusses the successes and problems with the election. The report details 19 reasons why the elections were flawed and rigged, most stemming from the relationship between the NDC (ruling party) and the Central Election Committee. The report finishes by displaying the parliamentary election winners by region and party.

Belarus Referendum Ballot 1996
Ballot used for the seven-question referendum held in Belarus on 24 November 1996. The first four questions in the referendum were proposed by President Alexander Lukashenko, and the final three were proposed by the Supreme Court. The voters voted on the following:
-Whether Independence Day should be moved to 3 July, to commemorate the liberation of Belarus
-Approval of the constitutional amendments proposed by President Lukashenko
-Approval of the free sale of land
-Abolition of the death penalty
-Approval of the constitutional amendment proposed by the Supreme Soviet
-Direct elections to local bodies
-Should all state expenses be part of the national budget.
