Puerto Rico General Election Ballot 1996
Ballot used for the 5 November 1996 Puerto Rico General Election. This ballot was used to elect the Governor of Puerto Rico and the Resident Commissioner of Puerto Rico. Voters could either vote for a party list or individual candidates. The main parties in the election were the Partido Nuevo Progresista, the Partido Popular Democratico, and the Partido Independentista Puertorriqueno.

This report summarizes an IFES conducted pre-election technical assessment in Tunisia in late 1993, prior to the parliamentary elections in March 1994. The report makes several recommendations including changes to electoral laws, consolidating the administration of elections into an independent authority, greater political openness and lengthening the period of political campaigning.
