The piece mentions that a 270 majority is needed to win the presidency. The November 7 presidential elections would be one of the closest in history with George W. Bush winning by the slimmest of margins with 271 electoral votes.

Bush’s campaign running for President of the U.S and George Allen, running for U.S Senate. The brochure includes some of the approaches both candidates have and what they have achieved or willing to do if elected. Social Security, Tax cuts and Public School Reform are some of the issues addressed by G.W. Bush. Additionally, the brochure contains a section on Chuck Robb’s record on his approach on public schools and taxes in Virginia, viewed as negative by the Republican Party of Virginia.

This guide entitled “Health Care Issues In the 2000 Presidential Election: A Comparison of Proposals” was prepared by the Health Policy Alternative, Inc. for a joint project of the League of Women Voters and Education Fund and the Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation. This guide provides an outline of health care positions and policy proposals for both the democratic and republican presidential campaigns. Issues such as health coverage for the uninsured, managed care and patient rights, Medicare reform, prescription drug coverage, and long-term care are addressed.

How to Register to Vote
In the year 2000, the District of Columbia Board of Elections and Ethics (DCBOEE) published “How to Register to Vote,” a pamphlet that both informs District of Columbia residents on voter registration qualifications and procedure and encourages residents to register and vote. Issues such as absentee voting, voting services for Senior citizens and handicapped residents, and maintaining an up-to-date registration are included. A telephone service for Spanish speaking residents is provided.

“I Vote!” is a flyer produced by the Coalition to Stop Gun Violence – the group that organized the Million Mom March in May 2000 – which encourages the reader to vote in the 2000 Presidential Election in the USA. Million Mom March is an annual march in Washington D.C. held on mother’s day to promote tighter restrictions on guns in order to create a safer environment for children.
