“How to Run for Political Office” is a second edition manual of elective politics for Philadelphia published in 1981 by the Committee of Seventy and it is intended to inform Philadelphians of how to run for public offices. The manual offers official guidance on the responsibilities and duties of the office, the qualifications necessary to hold the office, as well as unofficial information and unwritten rules and practices when running for a public office. Some of the topics covered are: the job descriptions on City Offices in Philadelphia, State Offices in Philadelphia, State Offices in Pennsylvania and Party Offices, as well as information on the practices to get on the ballot, filling the statement of Financial Interests and Financing a political campaign among others.

“The What Where and When Guide of Voter Information for 1981 Elections” is a voter handbook prepared in 1981 by Anthony J. Celebrezze Jr., the Secretary of State of Ohio, in lead up to the November 3, 1981 General Election. The guide is meant to provide voters with information about registering and voting, absentee voting including the armed services absentee voting, to inform them about their rights as voters and the procedures that lead to a correct exercise of voting. Additionally, it includes a list of the offices that the Ohio voters will elect during the General Election in 1981.
