Voters pamphlet
“Voters Pamphlet” is a voter guide published in 1978 by Norma Paulus, Oregon’s Secretary of State, in lead up to the November 7, 1978 General Election, and intended to inform the people of Oregon about voter registration requirements, absentee voting requirements, elections by mail, and voting at polling places. The pamphlet is divided into separate sections for Measures, Partisan Candidates and Nonpartisan Candidates. The pamphlet contains the complete text of each proposed measure, the shorter ballot title version, an impartial statement explaining the measure and its effect and arguments filed by proponents and/or opponents. Additionally, it contains statements and photographs of the candidates with information on occupation, occupational and educational background, as well as prior governmental experience.
