Marking International Day of Democracy 2019
Since 2007 when the United Nations General Assembly designated September 15th as the International Day of Democracy, organizations – governmental and nongovernmental – have joined with others to commemorate the importance of promoting and upholding principles of democracy. Otito Greg-Obi Elected to Executive Committee of U.S Civil Society Working Group on Women, Peace and Security
On May 20, IFES Gender Program Coordinator Otito Greg-Obi was elected to the 2019-20 Executive Committee of the United States Civil Society Working Group (CSWG) on Women, Peace and Security (WPS). The CSWG is a nonpartisan, collaborative network of civil society organizations that provides technical assistance to governmental agencies seeking to integrate the WPS agenda into national security efforts.
